Information - Right or Wrong?

What is the truth? What is an opinion? What is a lie? There is no student of any age or experience who can afford to not understand these concepts!

A brief and simple course for any student age eight and up. The methods generally used to educate children today involve a great deal of enforcement of information. Texts studied and lessons delivered are to be taken literally, and the information supplied is never to be questioned. A student taught this way never is allowed to either evaluate or reject information, a valuable set of survival skills LOST!

This very simple course assists the student to spot truths, falsehoods, and opinions, and to differentiate between them. It is an invaluable, required precursor to their history and science studies, allowing them to really evaluate and reject "information". For many students, they will be asked to think for themselves and determine the value of information to them, for the first time in their lives!

This course requires no additional materials, except access to a few books, newspapers and the internet and TV.

How To Do Research

For students ages 9-10. A brief but critical course, teaching the student some of the most valuable skills one can have, skills no student (or person) can do well without in today's informational civilization.

Students are often not taught the basics which underpin education. Such basics could include what IS a book? What IS the INTERNET? Now that you know what books and the internet are, how can you use them to learn things? What IS research?

Computer Literacy Course

For the student who has not used a computer much, if at all. Learn how to create documents and edit them, how to do research on the internet, and other key skills no student can do without!

A starter course for the person who has never turned on a computer, or who has turned one on, and then run terrified from the room ten minutes later! Starting with the most basic of info -- what is a computer -- the course teaches the student how to handle a computer, how to create documents, store information, research on the internet, and many other essential skills. Today, no student can really afford to be without these skills! In fact, it's doubtful many young students need this course. But if you do, here's an inexpensive way to join the modern world at the keyboard!

You will need a computer, preferably what's called a "PC", or "Personal Computer" in as opposed to a "Mac" (Apple, Macintosh). The computer needs to run on Windows (a program created by Bill Gates and Microsoft, his company), with another program called "Word" (which makes documents). You will need access to the Internet, but if you're reading this, you have that, and probably the rest of it as well. And I doubt you need this course... Well, here it is, anyway!

Manners Course

A Connect The Thoughts™ , A Course On How To Get Along With Others!

What are manners, today? We're not talking about "etiquette", the ability to select the correct fork or keep your elbows off the table while eating. Manners, as defined in this unique home school course, have to do with how we treat each other, how we communicate, how we accept responsibility and authority. Here is a course for students ages 9-adult, that does nothing less than define and encourage the sort of behavior which makes others trust us, and even care about our well-being. Covering everything from personal hygine to the names we call each other to the idea that one should keep agreements made, and even helping the student determine in what ways he's contributed to by his parents and others, and how he contributes in return...this is a life-changing course! 45-60 hours of ideas and exercises, all structured to help the student decide what sort of behavior will best contribute to his own survival, and the survival of others.
